Future Elderly Care Specialists Experienced Their First Laboratory Practices
First-year students of the Elderly Care Program began the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year with great enthusiasm. Within the scope of the Elderly Care Principles and Practices I course, students conducted their first practical training at the SDU Faculty of Medicine's Interprofessional Practical Training Laboratory.
In the laboratory, students practiced assessing vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure measurement), listening to heart and lung sounds, and working with simulation models. These practices increased their curiosity and motivation for the profession while familiarizing them with the laboratory environment. This experience provided students with their first opportunity to put classroom knowledge into practice and prepared them for the intensive practical training they will receive in the coming weeks.
