Emergency and First Aid Program Students Successfully Complete Laboratory Practices
Students of Süleyman Demirel University Isparta Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO), Emergency and First Aid Program, have completed their laboratory practices for the 2024–2025 academic year. Students carried out hands-on lessons in the university’s Faculty of Medicine laboratories and the school’s laboratory facilities as part of their practical training.
During these sessions, students could practice key clinical skills, such as basic life support, establishing intravenous access, using syringes, and collecting and analysing laboratory samples. These practice-based activities, modelled on real patient scenarios, not only enhanced the students’ professional competence but also aimed to prepare them for real-life clinical environments.
Lecturer Fatma Gündüz Güç, a faculty member in the Emergency and First Aid Program, stated, "We provided students with hands-on experience to ensure they are ready for real-life situations in the field. Their attention to detail, curiosity, and strong sense of responsibility made us proud.”
Lecturer Ensar Güney added: “We witnessed our students strengthen their emergency intervention skills in the lab environment. Seeing their development in technical areas and their ethical and communication skills was rewarding.”
Students expressed enormous satisfaction with the hands-on experiences they gained under the guidance of the academic staff. They noted their goal of strengthening their skills through advanced simulation and scenario-based practices in the upcoming semesters.
The laboratory sessions highlighted SHMYO’s strong emphasis on applied training in health education, as a concrete reflection of the school’s practical approach to teaching.
