‘Discover Cultural Heritage Travel and Workshop Project’ Successfully Completed
The ‘Discover Cultural Heritage Travel and Workshop Project’, organised in cooperation with Süleyman Demirel University Young Health Professionals Community and Selçuk University SHMYO, was completed. The project, which was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, UNIDES 2025 3rd Term, was held in Konya between 23 and 26 April 2025. It aimed to support students' personal and social development, raise cultural awareness, and increase interaction between students from different universities.
Within the programme, a workshop was held on 25 April 2025 at Selçuk University SHMYO campus. In the seminar, career planning, diversity and inclusion, mental health, technology and digitalisation in education, and gender equality were discussed. Students brainstormed in small groups, developed solutions, and exchanged ideas. Participants made significant gains both academically and personally by establishing new social networks.
On 26 April 2025, a trip was organized to explore Konya's cultural richness. The participants visited Mevlana Museum, Sille Village, and Meram Vineyards, and historical and cultural information was given to them. Students had the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical knowledge by making on-site observations.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr Fatma Hakyemez stated that such projects play a significant role in students' professional and personal development. In addition, Hakyemez stated that she believes that students will grow up as individuals who are more sensitive to society by gaining cultural heritage awareness. Selahattin Gökgöz, President of Süleyman Demirel University Young Health Professionals Community, stated that this project is valuable for students to improve themselves and establish new friendships—project coordinator, Lecturer. Assist. Ensar Güney emphasised that the event achieved its goals and thanked all participants and supporting institutions. ‘Discover Cultural Heritage Travel and Workshop Project’ has been remembered as an exemplary study that strengthens inter-university cooperation and cultural sharing.
