A Solidarity That Begins with a “Good Morning”: The “Is Anyone Listening?” Project Starts on March 9

The social responsibility project “Is Anyone Listening?”, implemented by the Elderly Care Program of the Department of Health Care Services at SDÜ Isparta Health Services Vocational School, will begin on March 9, 2026, under the coordination of Lecturer Sevilay Kılınçkaya.

Within the scope of the project, students will provide a “Good Morning Service” by making phone calls to individuals aged 65 and over around 09:00 every morning through groups formed for this purpose. During these teleconference-based conversations, our valued elders will not only talk with the students but will also have the opportunity to connect and chat with one another, thereby strengthening their social bonds.

The project, which will last 10 weeks, aims to reduce social isolation among older adults, strengthen intergenerational communication, and enhance students’ empathy, communication, and social responsibility skills.

This small contact that begins with a simple phone call will, in fact, become the voice of a much greater solidarity.

“Because sometimes a simple ‘good morning’ does not only brighten a lonely morning, but also illuminates a person’s heart.”
