A Meaningful Trip with Elderly Care Students for December 3rd, International Day of Persons with Disabilities
As part of the December 3rd International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a special trip aimed at raising awareness was organized with the participation of students. The event included ISHMYO faculty members Lecturer Dr. İsmail Caner YAVUZ and Lecturer Ebru ACARBAŞ, along with elderly care students. The purpose of the activity was to increase social sensitivity regarding disability, strengthen students’ empathy skills, and enhance their awareness of accessibility issues.
During the trip, students had the opportunity to closely observe the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in their daily lives. They were also able to engage in observations and ask questions throughout the event. It was emphasized that December 3rd is not only a day of remembrance but also an opportunity to strengthen a culture of inclusivity. This meaningful activity was regarded as an important step in terms of both social awareness and social responsibility.
