A Community Contribution by Süleyman Demirel University Vocational School of Health Services: "I Am Everywhere Project, Career Days"

The Vocational School of Health Services, Süleyman Demirel University (SDU), participated in the "I Am Everywhere Project, Career Days" event held on December 6, 2024, at Tümay Yavuz Ali Ergun Girls' Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Assistant Head of the Department of Healthcare Services, Lecturer Sevilay Kılınçkaya, attended the event as a speaker.

In her speech, she introduced SDU, emphasizing its institutional achievements in education and research since its establishment in 1992, its international projects, and opportunities such as double major programs, Erasmus, and Farabi. She also highlighted the mission of the Vocational School of Health Services, with its 6 departments and 11 programs, to train qualified healthcare technicians.

Additionally, she provided insights into the Department of Healthcare Services and the Elderly Care Program, discussing career opportunities, post-graduation employment prospects, and solutions to meet the needs of an aging population. Key topics covered in the presentation included:

  • The importance of elderly care in the context of an aging population,
  • Empathy and communication skills
  • Challenges in the profession and proposed solutions
  • The role of technology in elderly care.

 

The event aimed to guide vocational high school students in shaping their career aspirations in the field of elderly care. SDU continues to contribute to society and foster awareness through such community-oriented projects.
