A Awareness Event on “Technology Addiction and Safe Use of Technology” was held at SDU

Süleyman Demirel University, Isparta Health Services Vocational School, organized an “Technology Addiction and Safe Use of Technology” event to raise students' and staff's awareness of the digital world.
The event, held on May 8, 2025, at the Hafız İbrahim Demiralay Amphitheater, attracted the keen interest of 326 students. As part of the program, Deputy Commissioner Mert Ali AKALIN and Police Officer Ali ÇOBAN from the Cybercrime Department of the Isparta Provincial Police Department were invited to give a comprehensive presentation on cybercrime, digital threats, and cybersecurity. Additionally, Social Worker Ümit Bardak, an expert on technology addiction, delivered a presentation on the topic. Bardak shared important information on the individual and social effects of digital addiction and methods of coping with it.
The presentations touched on some of today's most pressing issues, such as social media use, personal data security, digital privacy, cyberbullying, and technology addiction, and provided important information on how individuals can act more consciously and safely in the digital environment. At the conclusion of the event, which was followed with great interest by the students, it was observed that participants' awareness of the subject had increased. SDÜ Isparta Health Services Vocational School officials emphasized the importance of such events in raising awareness and fostering healthy individuals in the digital age. They stated that similar awareness-raising initiatives would continue.
